There is a known quote from Hitler where he claimed that he was not a racist and that he respected all races. It is also known that he disliked Ku-Klux-Klan and other American white supremacists.
But there are also a lot of claims that he and his fellows were racists. At one occasion Julius Streicher claimed that his hatred toward Jews was racial rather than religious, but this was in circumstances when religious hatred was punishable by law.
Can it be claimed that the Nazis were sincere racists rather than just using popular at the time theme (not only in Germany) to attack Jews the same way as they employed religious feelings (of both Cristians, Muslims and paganists), animal rights, anti-Capitalist sentiment, fears of a revolution and any other possible and popular topic to attack Jews.
