Have there been any historical trials in which God or other deity had been summoned as a witness? How was his appearance / lack thereof handled by the court?

If it was anything but this I could google it. Regretfully, the question is just this. To clear further I had a hunch that it was the trial of Joan of Arc, but it is not. Then I thought it was David's when judged for adultry. It is such a context, if clarifies it for any responder. – Leopard Mar 24 '12 at 16:35
