Are there any records of politicians who have nearly always responded to questions asked of them in public by either answering the precise question asked, or stating that they are unable or unwilling to answer the question.

In my experience politicians being interviewed are nearly always unwilling to say that they are unwilling to answer a question, and instead they will make a relevant comment that isn't an answer and hope the interviewer moves on. – bdsl Apr 16 '12 at 20:18

Actually, this looks like a terrific question. Politicians, despite their obligation to serve the public, typically hedge public questions. Knowing which politicians actually upheld their points of view to the public certainly has historical significance. – dotancohen Jul 12 '12 at 9:15
