i know that in the end, the shogun era was won by Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Just wondering if there's any good documentary or book which i can read up for this part of the history.

Just read about it on wikipedia and look up the references there.

I have no book recommendations except to say this

There's also a good BBC docu-drama "Heroes and Villians" if you like that sort of thing.
