Have e.g. a look at A Peace to End All Peace: The Fall of the Ottoman Empire and the Creation of the Modern Middle East by David Fromkin. It contains important background information in a very readable format. – Drux Jan 22 at 9:42
thank you, i also came accross "A history of Palestine: from the Ottoman conquest to the founding of the state of Israel", by Gudrun Krämer, what do u think?? – Noor Jan 22 at 15:07
I don't know the author or this book, but it appears to be fine as well. So you have two books already: very good :) – Drux Jan 22 at 15:39
