The war between the United States and Britain and their respective Native American allies. It lasted from 1812-1815 and was mainly fought on the US/Canada border and along the United States' eastern seaboard.

Neither the British nor Americans lost any territory in this war. The clearest losers were the Native Americans, as the British withdrew military protection of western territories, opening the way for American settlement and expansion.

The War of 1812 is not to be confused with the French invasion of Russia in 1812, which is called by Russians the "Patriotic War of 1812" and the "Russian Campaign" by the French.
