comment How were Muslim Turks treated in Byzantine Empire?
These are, as far as I can tell, just guesses which I can make as well. If you can find credible sources in support of your claims it would be better. However, Wikipedia says that Arap Mosque was originally a catholic church, and was later converted to a mosque by the Turks. The reason it's called Arap is due to it having been given over to Andalusian refugees fleeing the Spanish inquisition

Even CIA estimates disagree with the economic growth figures you give here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_the_Soviet_Union#/media/…

@kubanczyk That is an interesting point. Do you have more information on this?

The two are not mutually exclusive. Fighting of Germans with Russians was their way to achieve the goal of splitting Europe into pro-American and Russian camps.

That certainly was a part of my question and your answer describes very coherently the early drive away from Rome. I would just like to know more about how that eventually led to the architectural decline and abandonment of the forum.

I read it a while ago, but cannot find the reference anymore. I think it's safe to say that not considering the possibility would have been imprudent.

So you would put the time when forum stopped being maintained to the time of Diocletian? At some point they started using it as a quarry if I am not mistaken. Would that be already during that time?
