but sadly i see a lot of this type of relativistic thinking among contemporary circles that consider themselves "Intellectual", which reject anything but a sign of equality between any two ideas or concepts

do you think a list of items that deserve an encyclopedia entry is so arbitrary ? do you think Joe's Corner Barber Shop cannot be measured as more relevant than semiconductor for the purposes of encyclopedic classification? why do you think it is impossible to designate a boolean data type (true or false) attribute to each encyclopedia item that means "is_inventon" and list all the items that are true ?

that is pretty decent. could be more comprehensive but certainly good enough for starters. thanks

i wasn't asking you to do it but to return some research you may know about. of course it is possible to put an approximate metric on how beneficial a certain invention is to humanity. i am not an expert on the history of science so i couldn't tell you but i know there are ways to dissect and mine data any way you desire in this day and age

who is asking for "all inventions" ? i have clearly emphasized numerous times that i was looking for the most relevant and striking ones, understanding that may be somewhat subjective. so the WHEEL would be more prominent than SHAVING FOAM. so if you esoterically ask me to prove that assumption is correct, i would have to call B.S. on that on the grounds of being obvious

no, i refuse to accept the demagogical B.S. notion that it's impossible to recognize achievements of science and technology as inventions and list them in a structured and fairly conclusive fashion in an age when all such data is available at your fingertips.

i cannot conceive that nowadays in the age of big data and fancy analytics, we don't have documented relatively comprehensive list of inventions throughout history...

most inventions can be attributed to one person, the inventor. why is it so complicated to assign that person to his culture of origin? i am not asking for a 100% exhaustive list that will include all. just a fairly comprehensive one

what is so controversial about labeling things like wheel, electrical induction, microprocessor, semiconductor, carburator etc as ... inventions ??

i can see how this subject may seem provocative to those who only defend popular opinion and political correctness

it is a legitimate historical inquiry. you can choose to be restrictive any narrow way you find suits your agenda

there is nothing wrong with mapping a single invention with parallel simultaneous origins

comment Has any country ever voluntarily admitted to genocide?
there is a difference asking in a themed, biased environment ("Turkish speaking") vs. a neutral one like this is supposed to be ("history", without biased connotations) -- duuh

comment Has any country ever voluntarily admitted to genocide?
why would anyone be doing research the old fashioned way by digging through microfiche and such in the age of QA forums on the interwebs where you can just get an answer??
