comment How did Poland avoid partition in the 17th century, but not the 18th century?
No problem. I've rather meant the lack of sources, which would make the answer more complete. That's a thing I'll try to update after the weekend.

comment Looking for a symbol for Southern USA communism
Thanks, I was aware of Texas and California, but not of Florida, I'll try to read something on the subject, as it's pretty interesting.

comment Looking for a symbol for Southern USA communism
I'd first wonder why did you chose this very particular region of USA and then focus on it. If you find any clues on why would communism grow easier in this region then in others, just use whatever symbolizes these clues. Imho logo of Communist Party USA is a good point to start with.

comment Did the Greeks win the battle of Salamis because their rowers were “free”?
+1. Geee, I've imagined Greeks fighting against Persians on bicycles (rower is a bicycle in Polish).

comment Why is Finland represented as a Soviet satellite in this 1947 cartoon?
@defaultlocale I still don't see it under the first link (probably it's a browser issue), but of course the second one works, thanks!

comment What other pairs of wars have had a ~25 year interval?
How exactly did you measure that 25 years between one war and the second? If you count 1914 and 1939, then it would still be 25 years even if WWI lasted for two decades...

The overall idea of chivalry was known in Eastern Europe in 15th century. It just wasn't so widely obeyed. :)
