COMPUTER SCIENCE: I'm mainly interested in Symfony2, CKEditor and CSS3 related topics.

HISTORY: I'm mainly into Eastern Europe matters. Living in an old capitol of Poland, I'll be happy to answer anything related to those times, or to research for your questions in Polish sources, if you don't speak our language by yourself.

SF&FANTASY: Any questions about Polish Science-Fiction scene? Just ask.

comment Were any “Native American” attacks able to annihilate any European American settlements?
Sorry, but this question is really far from being clear, and this way, useful for anybody else. Please, do write a brief introduction. Right now even the selection of tags doesn't help to understand what it's about.

The previous version of my comment was "what does it mean "not established". :) Thanks.

comment What other pairs of wars have had a ~25 year interval?
How exactly did you measure that 25 years between one war and the second? If you count 1914 and 1939, then it would still be 25 years even if WWI lasted for two decades...

The overall idea of chivalry was known in Eastern Europe in 15th century. It just wasn't so widely obeyed. :)

comment How independent were the Eastern European countries from the Soviet Union?
It's also very dependent from the times we're considering. The influence of USSR through decades was much different.

comment Have the Romani people (gypsies) ever fought back violently against prejudice?
Eduardo, welcome to the site. Nice question, I'd be interested in reading the answer too. Will add my few words to it in a while.

comment How independent were the Eastern European countries from the Soviet Union?
Welcome to the site. Please edit your question and specify what exactly you mean by independence of the country in this context. Right now writing a whole book would be not enough to answer this question.

comment What aspects of Soviet life were not controlled by Stalin?
Please include in your question, on what basis you tell the difference between "did" and "didn't". Without it it's difficult to understand what answer you expect.

Angelo, if you log in before editing, you won't need to wait for approving edits of your own questions.

comment Did Hitler not intend a major war while invading Poland?
OK, after getting to know more facts about Taylor, I think the question should be rather "did" than "why", because we speak here about private theories of Taylor, unless you provide on what facts his opinion is based. Then we can refer to them.

Can you please provide that quote in a longer paragraph, so we can know the exact context of these words before answering?

comment The practice of translating foreign monarch's or noble's name
But it's worth to mention that in Norwegian language the names are practically the same - no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_over_Polens_herskere

comment The practice of translating foreign monarch's or noble's name
I wouldn't call it an obsession. Firenze in Polish language is Florencja, Charles V is Karol, François is known as Franciszek Walezjusz. Norwegian king Håkon V Magnusson is known here as Haakon V Długonogi (long-legged), while his father Magnus VI as Magnus VI Prawodawca (law-maker). Also, as a tourist guide, dealing with people from around the world, I find it much easier to refer to Polish kings with their English or French names. Casimir III the Great in English tells the audience much more than Kazimierz III Wielki, Auguste II le Fort in French tells more than August II Mocny.

comment The practice of translating foreign monarch's or noble's name
Past foreign monarchs are referred to by the English version of their name only in English language history texts. They are only a certain percentage of all history texts available. So please clarify if you ask only about particular English language rules and customs, or you refer to the overall practices around the world, regardless of the language, as different countries may have different practices.

comment Why is our planet called Earth?
Hmm I don't find such common origin. Is in English earth connected ethymologicaly with humus? Earthling is Ziemianin, the word which points both at citizen of the planet and in historical context, feudal owner of the land - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_landed_gentry

The same with Polish, Ziemia (name of the planet) means "ground, soil, dry land".

comment When and how did the idea of a “class-less” society originate in the United States?
Felix, but unlike American Revolution, French Revolution was a war of classes, in order to provide class-less (well, at least more class-less) society. The same with communists.

comment Effect of natural environment on the development of cultures
While the question is interesting, it's still one of those you could write a book about, what makes it not fitting this particular website. It's also not exactly history, rather anthropology. Speaking about particular examples of such influence would do, but talking about it in overall is a different matter.
