A very nice answer, but if it were to be accepted: I need some resources that prove what you say - some history books, particular findings or iconography. Also, the question specificly targets met at arms fighting on foot, while you wrote that they "had to have" a horse - perhaps in England there was no armoured infantry during the period I mentioned? Im no specialist on England ;)

Poland would be nice, but its not a necessity. I want to get an idea about how popular plate armour was, and how acurrate are the modern depictions of the era, where plate is quite well spread even amongst common footmen.

comment Riveted mail - flat or round rings? Die cut rings mixed with riveted ones?
@Sardathrion - I cant edit it yet :) But i will try to retag some questions. Also, I think we could use some more tags, like "clothing" or "material-culture" for all those questions like "What cutlery was used in the middle ages" and similar

comment Adapting clothes, weapons, tools and customs from other nations in the middle ages - judging plausability
Well, im interested in the highest versimilitude possible ;) I tried to write my question this way, hoping that you could show me a scientific procedure that would allow me to determine whats the best fit to fill in blank holes. I feared that asking specific questions would be too localized (example: asking about a specific model of gauntlet in a specific timeframe and location) or too broad (example: what types of gauntlets were used in 1350-1450, by whom, and please include findings and pictures) for Q & A format... We want to do educational shows and need to be accurrate historically.
