Did people have better nutrition before agriculture? Please define "healthier". You mention in a single sentence they were healthier but had half of our life expectancy. Isn't it a self-contradiction? |

Why didn’t Britain use its vast navy to get past trench warfare? I've meant to say "but the British tried to do exactly this, and at the most convenient point, and they failed miserably: see Gallipoli campaign" but you've beat me to it. |

Harvard Architecture: How did Harvard Mark I separate data and instruction? "Can only be well-answered by an engineer"?!? This is a proper historical question, which can be answered by a historian with the normal use of primary or secondary historical sources. Most other questions around here cannot be answered precisely, but this one has a chance - this is the only difference I see. |

Are these images from Iran-Iraq war authentic? First photo much better version: ejection-history.org.uk/country-by-country/IRAN/… to be more precise it's F-5E. You can try to track it down by its number (2-7-59 ٢-۷-۵۹). And the second photo: Mirage F1 EQ or some subvariant (EQ-2?). Paintwork seems legit for both photos. |

Are there any good sources on the history of the name for Kazakhstan? @David Usually "қ" is transliterated into English "k", and "х" is transliterated into either English "kh" or "ch" or "h". The "k" in "kh" is always silent. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… |
