Are modern Greeks related to the ancient Greeks? I don't get the importance of genetics here? Linguistics are far more established way to estimate the cultural inheritance (or lack thereof) among the common people. |

Was the Napoleonic era cavalry armour effective against firearms? Pure physics. Compare musket with a modern rifle. Which one needs more kinetic energy to achieve given aiming accuracy? What happens with this kinetic energy after hitting the target? |

What are the social preconditions for division of labour, when compared in different emerging civilizations? I can only agree with the comment. But neither OP or me tried to strip you of your rights or your freedom. Both OP and me tried to discourage a certain behavior. |

What is considered to be the pivotal battle between Caesar and Pompey? @astabada It would be great if this would be similarly well referenced: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesar%27s_Civil_War A key article in such a pitiful state... |

What are the social preconditions for division of labour, when compared in different emerging civilizations? Well, you are right about point 1, and wrong about points 2,3,4,5. But, most importantly, you provide to the OP exactly what he don't wish to see, your personal opinion, and not an opinion of a published scientist: "I demand more than personal reasoning for an accepted answer, at least quotes of a historian [...]" |

Emigration restrictions in history Felix, don't mind. Samuel has an uncommon political stance, and this is why sometimes his actions seem mysterious. |

What was the reason of extreme anti-Communism in the first half of 20th century? I don't think OP was asking where the cruelty came from. OP implicitly assumes that there was an emotion accumulated but the question is, precisely, why it manifested so much pro/against communism. Your answer would apply as well to the atrocities centered around, say, rose gardens. |
