comment Did the Romans ever encounter the Vikings?
What do u mean by "Rome fell"? Rome seceded from the Empire around 731 AD over iconoclasm controversy and conficsation of the pope's estates in Sicily by the emperor.

comment Was there any terrorism in the Soviet Union?
@jwenting is there an indication that Kirov was killed by regime's secret services rather than private people? Stalin was not in control of the secret services at the time.

comment Was there any terrorism in the Soviet Union?
@jwenting even if Kirov was killed by Stalin as a political competitor, Stalin was not acting in the regime's capacity because Kirov also was part of the regime.

@Ne Mo funny enough it was announced that the shooter was firing at the cosmonauts. He was incarcerated into a mental hospital and released in 1990. After release he was given a flat and the military wage for 20 years because it turned out that he was not formally fired from the military.

comment Is there any research explicitly contradicting facts in Suvorov's “Icebreaker” book series claiming that Stalin intended to attack Hitler in 1941?
@user11759 the bloodshed was very far from that by Germany. If not to count the executions of the POWs

comment Why do minor political parties in the US receive so few votes?
@T.E.D. huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/28/… she was a registered candidate and even had the lists with her name officially distributed at the polling stations. She was just "not approved by the party"

comment Why did the Nazis target Jehovah's Witnesses?
The witnesses were NOT respecting Jews in Germany. Just the opposite, they were VERY anti-Semitic in Nazi Germany. Because of this they were seen as excellent supervisors in concentration camps. They always did the jobs excellently, without any sabotage, always reported any conspiracies and preparations for armed resistance etc. They only refused to go to war. Especially because of their anti-Semitism Himmler suggested to promote the religion among the Slavs.
