Data warehousing/ETL developer, specialising in Teradata but now mostly working with DataStage. Had a brief foray as a Ruby on Rails developer. Also making iPhone games in my spare time (Objective-C is a terrible language).

By "deal with", do you mean saving the infected body part or merely preventing death?

comment Why did Dorothy Dixers become prevalent in question time in Australia?
TV is what I suspect to be the primary cause. Would like to see that referenced though, and also if there were other reasons.

comment Why did Dorothy Dixers become prevalent in question time in Australia?
Oh, absolutely. But the fact that it was always acceptable but didn't happen previously suggests a change in circumstances that either made planted questions more popular with the electorate or genuine questions more risky.

comment What was done to improve the safety of jousts after the death of Henry II?
I agree that it was dying, but according to Wikipedia, England held jousts up to at least 1624, 65 years after Henry's death, which is plenty of time to at least investigate safety improvements if there was the desire. If you have anything that shows that investigations into safety improvements were not considered worthwhile due to the decreasing frequency of jousts, I'd be happy to accept that.

comment What was the Mantineian form of government and what praise did it receive?
Seems to me like there's not much recorded on Mantineia, so I've marked this correct as being the closest we can get.
