@TomAu, ah, I get it, for many people who would otherwise have to resort to illegal and dangerous forms of making a living, the Armed Forces is a safer alternative. Well, that has made me change my vote.

Germany did emerge as a power twice, but it was defeated twice. Italy? As Bismarck said, Italy has a large appetite, but not the teeth to eat. Spain? It was, then it was destroyed by inflation.
