comment What is “Theoretical History”?
From the comments in the question you linked to the author mentions "historians" that have proposed treating history as a science with various theories to undertake that approach. This to me is extremely problematic, and my answer to the question that spawned this question touches on that. Simply put, there are too many inputs that people can't agree on in terms of relevance etc, that make such an approach to history fallacious. I articulated some of these points in one of your questions earlier, about the intersection of computer science and history.

@sbi I was waiting for the Foundation series to show up, haha.

@sbi yeah it seems that we did have a bit of a misunderstanding there. I would be very interested in reading both of those books referenced in your answer, as I think it is an admirable approach, I am just rather skeptical.

@sbi objectively observable weather phenomena are not the same as the various inputs that cause a revolution. It seems a little silly to even have to type that.

As someone with a degree in history, and a degree in computer science I would say that the only way the two are combined is by computer science serving history. As @sbi stated anything surrounding the manipulation of databases would be the most beneficial tools from computer science. The study of history is inherently subjective because you are trying to determine cause and effect from a wide variety of inputs. Ultimately, the decision on what inputs are important, and their relative importance, is subjective. So you could have a huge database of inputs, but they might be irrelevant.

This is a good answer, however, the trick is asking the right questions, and inputting the right data. Since what is, or isn't the right data, is a matter of subjective interpretation any sort of predictor will simply not work.

You need to rework this question. As it stands right now it is incomplete and confusing.

this does not add maps that are historical, these are modern maps of old boundaries

@BrienMalone thank you. The whole anthology is a pretty cool set. I would love to be in a position to one day own it, but it seems like that is an exceedingly difficult task.
