Why did Hitler attack the Soviet Union when he was still busy fighting the United Kingdom? @Noldorin True, they didn't have Spain (non-belligerent) or Switzerland (neutral), but Ireland and Russia aren't on the peninsula. I guess it's probably more accurate to say they didn't have any one left to fight on the peninsula. |

But if you have a look at what Germany achieved early in the war, it's almost inconceivable that it could lose from such a strong position. At the time it would have been a fair assumption. |

What are the factors that caused the new world civilizations to be less technologically advanced than the old world? @LouisRhys Regardless of what's happened in the last few hundred years, in the time period we're talking about North America still didn't have helpful grains or animals.
