comment Did Joseph Stalin kill anyone personally?
Well this is true. But killing someone or see someone dying, can change a person. So, all this death was just piece of paper for him?

@StevenDrennon, Ok, was not a good word. I just thought: Marine = ship = not fight in terrain. This was a mistake. :)

comment In current times is it impossible to win a war if the people of invaded country are determined not to lose?
Lol, is good see all this point of view. Ok, it is difficult say what is a win and lose a war. When @BrotherJack says "winning the war, and losing the occupation" make more sense. This make part of my statement true: You can even win the battles and really occupy all the country, but if the population do not want you in power, it will make your life difficult, with irregular military fights and acts like suicide attack, car bomb, etc... Can a pro government survive to this? When this will finish? Only when the invader country go out and the pro government finish. So, did he lost the war?

But the insurgency WANT to create stability to do exactly what the U.S. do, leave their country. Isn't this a kind of win? In the Vietnam the U.S win all battle, but.. lost the war... Isn't the same now?

Hum.. Very low casualties of American Army, are you sure? You have some statistic? What is the % of dead or injured people? When you say to escape to high crime rate, not make sense if you go to a war zone, this is not more safe :)

The Air Force and Marine can be a little more "soft" and less dangerous. But about the ordinary infantry soldier. You can have serious post-traumatic diseases. Is patriotism the answer? Only this... You can get education/training benefits in other less dangerous ways. In resume, if you go fight and go back, with no diseases, start a civilian life, the state will not pay anything more for your army time? Even a healthy care?
