comment When did the Luftwaffe lose air-superiority over the Reich?
They did have one major attack fielding almost every aircraft they could get their hands on - 1st Jan 1945. 1,000 Luftwaffe aircraft took to the skies but it ended up being a waste of resources. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Nordwind

comment How did Allies secure southern flank during “Race to the Rhine”?
Although that doesn't give good reasons either - my understanding is that the Free French forces from North Africa wanted to help liberate their own country and it was easier for them logistically to do this via the Mediterranean as they had recently been involved in the North Africa campaign. It also had the useful benefit of forcing the Germans to fight on another front. So the main reason for Dragoon seems to be political but I am no expert.

comment Why does the UK buy some of its major military hardware from the USA while France is self-reliant?
Regards the E-3 Sentry, the British did begin to develop their own version of this, the Nimrod AEW3, but it proved so costly to develop and was plagued by various development problems that it ended up being cheaper to buy the US planes.
