comment Why did Canada, Australia and New Zealand separate from UK?
Australia may be a continent in geographical terms (although technically it isn't) but it only has a population around a third the size of England. Your argument is therefore flawed.

comment At the end of WWII, were nazis working on any other super weapon besides V-2?
The German's were well ahead of the US in the development of an atomic weapon in the late 1930's but due to cutbacks in research they fell behind. Germany cut back on a lot of research projects around 1940 as the war was going so well only to begin re-investing when things started to go badly around the 1942/1943. Lucky for us they did scale back research for at least a couple of years! yourdiscovery.com/web/world-war-2/ww2-focus/flashpoints/…

Would the ME 262 have been any good as a night-fighter I wonder?

comment Number of bullets used in WW2
Good suggestion but you need to bear in mind that by far the biggest killer in actual combat was artillery. That doesn't take into account grenades and bombs, I don't have figures for those but I'd guess people killed by bullets would be somewhat less than 30% of the total casualties, perhaps much less than that. answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090427003103AA04lGs

Certainly Germany was ahead of the US in the race to develop the Atom bomb in 1939. Also they scaled back research into the ME262 for over a year, had they not done so then arguably they would have arrived in large numbers before air-superiority was already lost.

Thanks, good answer. I think had Moscow fallen it would have caused Russia problems as it's such an important hub for communications. This would have hampered their efforts to launch counter-offensives and perhaps ultimately they would have been forced to surrender, but I suspect you'll disagree with me. Thanks for an interesting answer, I pretty much agree with everyone else you've said.
