The fight/battle is not fought with the purpose of two sides statically positioned N hundred meters from each other. And shooting at the enemy and that's all. It does not work like this. Did the roman conquerors have directives/guidelines to either integrate or assimilate foreign tribes/folks? "they likely didnt allow knuckeld tribes to practice their religion/language". Wrong. Romans, as a matter of policy, generously allowed subdued tribes to practice their religion and to speak their languages. Obedience to the Governor, loyalty to the Emperor and taxes were demanded in return. |

Why did Hitler attack the Soviet Union when he was still busy fighting the United Kingdom? Germany wanted to expand. Has nothing to do with Fascism-vs-Communism. Before taking on Russia, Germany attacked and occupied numerous European countries with which Germany had no ideological battle. They were just obsessed with occupying territiories and to make up for the loss in WWI. |
