Hello world,

My name is not Monster Truck II and I was not born in 1920. But here is something about me that I feel comfortable sharing. I studied physics and computer science at college and enjoy reading (history, politics, and economics) and listening to music.

Here is my bookshelf:

comment How do we know the oldest New Testament manuscripts are copies?
kojiro, As @PieterGeerkens pointed out reasons differ for different manuscripts in question. In the current format, however, this question will not get good answers here. Most answers will be too long and would add hardly anything that wikipedia does not cover. I respect your question very much and would request that you post it for some specific manuscripts so that we can answer it in a concise manner. Just to be clear, this question is not off topic. It is just too broad.

Should this question be rephrased to refer to Ocean's Eleven so that it can come up on search engines?

comment Why were there more Muslims in East Bengal than in West Bengal
No Lennart. I am afraid you misunderstand me. I am saying that more Muslims were agriculturists because of the social conditions prevalent in the regions around circa 16th century (when Nawab rule began) and they gradually started to get concentrated in the Eastern side because the conditions were fertile there. Whether they moved there or were forced to move there we cannot say. What we do know is that at least during one point in the history Bengali Muslims were indeed moved to yet another region of India --Assam. And for precisely the same reason --agriculture (this time tea).

LennartRegebro, @PieterGeerkens Of course not. I am saying that at the time most agriculturists were Muslim. That statement by itself does not imply that they invented agriculture. Merely that there happened to be more Muslim agriculturists than non-Muslim agriculturists at the time of partition. Even now in rural India many occupations are still heavily segregated based on religion (let alone caste).

Could it have been that the agriculturists had a better chance of prospering in the rich Eastern delta than the semi-arid Western regions? And could it have been that at that time most agriculturists were Muslim (one of the cited reasons for Curzon's partition)?

comment What evidence supports the claim that Shivaji's father was Muslim?
In its current form I think this answer is good enough. I think that last two points greatly add to the quality of the argument.

I see that the question is wrong factually. However, should we be closing factually incorrect questions instead of answering why they are factually incorrect?

comment When and where was salt as valuable as gold?
+1 This does not answer the actual question but does a wonderful job of explaining why salt was so valuable.
