comment When did worshiping of ancient Greek gods come to an end?
@Piper, the debate in the comments could be dealt with by providing sources. Do you have any source for your assertion that the ancient Greek religion was continuously practiced from ancient times to the modern day?

@XZVR, that's an interesting position. I think you'll find that many people do not consider an unknowing reference to the name of a pagan god the same thing as worshipping a pagan god.

comment How similar were Finnish and Lenape slash-and-burn agriculture?
Bailyn's statement was brief and without details (as it was incidental to the main story). All I know so far about their similarity is that they were both slash and burn.

comment How similar were Finnish and Lenape slash-and-burn agriculture?
@MarkC.Wallace, that's basically the point of this question. I'm guessing that they used different implements, planted different crops, made different use of beasts of burden, etc., but I just don't know.

revised native-americans wiki description
fixed problems - previous version couldn't decide if this was about all of North America or just the US, and referred to these people only in past tense as if none survive today; also added two common alternative terms

If it was destroyed and replaced, I'd say that doesn't count as a survival.

I've seen that engraving, but I just couldn't make sense of it. The second image really helps.

comment Were the Puritans for a State Church?
The Puritans were definitely in favor of their colony being officially Puritan. I'll see if I can dig up some references.
