Have the current polar ice caps receded further than those that existed before the beginning of the last Ice Age? No, Earth's history is not history, nor is it archaeology. It is paleontology, and this already loosey-goosey site doesn't need any more expansions of scope. |

Have the current polar ice caps receded further than those that existed before the beginning of the last Ice Age? This is a geology question, not history. History is not simply "things that occurred in the past"; it is a discipline, and one whose methodologies cannot answer this question. |

Is there any country where the founder of the nation is no longer respected? The "father" of Russia is generally given as Peter, the "founder" as Rurik or Ivan. I don't think Yeltsin qualifies. |

Was the Bosnian Crisis the trigger to WWI and not the assassination? To call something a trigger is not the same as to call something a cause. To say "trigger" implies a specific incident that sets in motion a chain reaction. Hostile sentiment or a belligerent nature by themselves do not produce conflict; something has to provide an "excuse" to fight. The assassination was the trigger, nationalism a contributing cause. |

Could senators visit Roman Egypt? @FelixGoldberg Fair enough; the commentary that senators faced restrictions on all "frontier" provinces comes only from footnotes in secondary sources, so I removed that discussion. |
