What made it possible for the Normans to conquer/dominate large areas in Ireland in a relative short amount of time when there were relatively few of them? The vikings were to my knowledge quite numerous but they never accomplished much in Ireland when it comes to conquest? Was that Normans were simply better warriors despite being so few or did the vikings not want conquest at all or something else?
