Reading this excellent question/answer about the Physics of heavy cavalry charges, I am wondering what are the most accurate depictions of medieval cavalry charges in movies or TV series?
Two come to my mind
- Braveheart: Battle at Stirling (there are many inaccuracies in this movie, however this scene feels somewhat realistic in terms of the cav charge)
- Got: Battle of Bastards at Winterfell
... Then there's of course the LotR: Charge of the Rohirrim. I know, I know, it's fantasy, but an awesome cav charge nonetheless. However, seems like something like this would be quite unlikely based on the post linked above. Charging into formed lines of fresh infantry, with densely packed lines of cav.
