Africa is the continent on which the human species probably originated. It fostered some of the earliest known civilizations, and contains a vast array of cultures to this day.
Africa is the nominal birthplace of the human species.
A large, mostly tropical continent, it remains the home of the most diverse collection of human cultures, both native and reintroduced. It still contains native speakers of over two-thousand languages.
