Feb 16, 2015 at 20:23 | comment | added | Alex | @Matthaeus: and I gave examples of exactly this situation during the WW2: one of them is Ukrainian nationalist army. On whose side did it fight on your opinion? Soviet? German? British?
Feb 16, 2015 at 20:19 | comment | added | Matthaeus | @Alex the OP's asked whether there were at any given times three parties all at war with each other. That would have been the case, for example, if France was fighting, let's say, the British and at the same time also the Germans.
Feb 16, 2015 at 20:16 | comment | added | Matthaeus | @Alex as i said, you got the facts right. But even the facts you state, do not support your opinion, that is the problem. You say the SU first fought with Germany, then against it, France first fought against Germany then with it (Vichy France to be precise). It looks like there's always only two sides in conflict at any given time, or at least that is the view your facts suggest. I'm not saying your interpretation is wrong, I'm just saying it might not be very obvious even when (or especially when) looking at the facts you stated.
Feb 15, 2015 at 17:43 | comment | added | Alex | @Matthaeus: My point of view is based on those verifiable facts. You call it "peculiar", so let me ask: what is your point of view based on?
Feb 5, 2015 at 22:28 | comment | added | Alex | Yes. But you did see the Ukrainian Nationalist army fighting SU, Germans and Poles contemporarily, for example. So how many sides were there in that war?
Feb 5, 2015 at 17:49 | comment | added | Matthaeus | @Alex not downvoting, because your facts check out. However you have a very peculiar point of view, your position is difficult to support. I don't see any triangle with Poland or anywhere else for that matter. In the beginning there were 2 fronts Polant vs. SU + D and later on SU switched sides. You never saw the SU fighting with the allies or with Poland and with Germany contemporarily

Dec 8, 2014 at 3:20 | comment | added | Michael | @RomanYankovsky: no use of denying Soviet-German cooperation in their invasion of Poland in 1939. This has been very well established beyond any shadow of the doubt. If you care to google something like "russian german invasion poland 1939" and click on Images your eyes will feast on numerous photographs of German and Soviet soldiers, generals, and politicians fraternizing with each other in the jointly occupied Poland. Just because Russian history books attempt to hide that (very poorly, BTW) that doesn't mean that it didn't happen.
Feb 20, 2014 at 8:41 | comment | added | Roman Yankovsky | Alex, what to dispute about? That SU was on Germany side? That's just not true, there is nothing to dispute about. Check your facts.
Feb 20, 2014 at 0:48 | comment | added | Alex | Roman Yankovsky and Nakilon:: do you want to dispute any facts that I stated, or only to put a label "propaganda"?

Feb 19, 2014 at 17:24 | comment | added | T.E.D.♦ | Not downvoting, but I don't see three inarguable "sides" here; only two which a couple of participants switched between.
Feb 19, 2014 at 7:47 | comment | added | Roman Yankovsky | On its own side. On which side did Poland invade Czechoslovakia in 1938? Your answer is full of cold war propaganda.
Feb 19, 2014 at 1:11 | comment | added | Alex | Really? You think Soviet invasions of Poland, Finland, and peaceful takover of Baltic and Besarabia did not really happen? On which side did SU invade Poland?
Feb 18, 2014 at 19:07 | comment | added | Nakilon | Thinking, that Soviet Union was on side of Germany is caused by cold war propaganda.

Divided it into separate paragraphs rather than one blob.
