May 9, 2019 at 19:12 comment added user12387 @LangLangC Okay, I will revise my answer completely. I am currently asking the people in my country at my country's Q&A request site.
May 9, 2019 at 14:11 comment added LаngLаngС That's what it looks like – but I'm having trouble to conclude that from just this answer's text. How did they plan until the actual attack (keep in mind the 'why'), when and how/why were objectives changed in planning, how/why during the battle and how/why & when afterwards? Making that clearer in this answer (with an emphasis that you're drawing from/on Japanese sources) would be great. Currently, I feel the reader has to connect too much dots, jot some more lines of reasoning in.

May 9, 2019 at 11:10 comment added LаngLаngС The question doesn't really give a date but "when they had the chance". However, implicitly the Q and many As here assume the "when" to be on/during the initial attack, while this A now argues in favour of "plans" made after that attack (even after Midway). I guess adding absolute dates including years and how the "after" presented here relates to "then" (the initial attack) would improve things.
