Davout's entire III Corps was engaged from the start in attempting to take the redoubts in the centre of the Russian Line. Casualties in the battle were the most in any battle of the quarter century comprising the Revolutionary an Napoleonic Wars, tens of thousands greater than the battle in second pla0ce: Waterloo. No part of your answer is compatible with these basic facts about Borodino. | |
